Autumn/Winter, the best season for many reasons, chic overcoats and ankle boots being on the top of the list. The beginning of the season means deciding on updating classic pieces or exploring key trends.I could not decide on whether to update my classics or explore AW17 trends so I did both, with the new Trenery Autumn/Winter collection.
An update in key pieces while exploring earthy winter shades.
As much as we’re all for experimenting with outerwear in winter – by going bigger and brighter, we will never shy away from a classic camel coat. It’s like owning a white button down shirt or a pair of blue jeans – a camel coat is a modern day, basic cover up that compliments almost everything. This season, the camel coat is updated with extra details, styles and colour shades – side pockets are exaggerated, buttons are replaced with zips and much like the wool coat I’m wearing, you will find side splits that create an elongating silhouette.
Although the colour is normally reserved for timeless coats, it works on anything. Whether you find a pair of pants, boots or jeans – dressed in something camel, you are guaranteed to look insanely stylish and effortless. I went with a pair of camel coated denim with ankle zip detail that matched with my ankle boots and paired it with a marshmallow coloured top and matching jacket – it’s safe to say that I’m ready for the colder days.
Burgundy, Maroon, Rust or Dark Plum – call it what you want. Earthy shades are playing a big part this winter and I have already collected my first piece. A cut in drapey dress with white polka dots, patch pockets and a matching waist tie.
It is no shocker that I’m not a fan of dresses but seeing that modest but sexy midi hems were a big hit on the runways I had to grab this dress. Dresses or pants that stop just over the knees or sometimes just under, serve to elongate the figure – when paired with the right accessories. Whether you go for a pair of sandals or boots for winter, midi hems will give you the illusion of being taller. In just the right colour, maybe burgundy, you will look simple but effortlessly stylish and trendy.
